In celebration of National Heritage Month (NHM), the #NationalMuseumPH Cordillera in Kiangan, Ifugao in collaboration with the National Museum Gender and Development Focal Point System (NM GAD-FPS), will be conducting a lecture and demonstration on Tuknul ya Kuttilap: Traditional Basketry and Embroidery on May 6, 2022 at the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office grounds in Poblacion, Kiangan, Ifugao.

In celebration of the National Heritage Month and International Museum Day, the #NationlMuseumPh through its Central Museum Visitors Operation Division (CMVOD), invites museum fans to join a One-Day Special Guided Tour entitled “Pamanang Pilipino: Puno, Palayok, Pinsel”, on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. The activity will be simultaneously conducted at 10 am and 2pm in all three buildings of the NMP complex namely - National Museum of Fine Arts, National Museum of Anthropology, and National Museum of Natural History.

Even in this time of the new normal, the #NationalMuseumPH remains in service to the public through its offering of different educational programs/activities from its central office and regional museums nationwide. This year, as the NMP participates in the celebration of the International Museum Day, the Museum Services Division invites the public to its Seminar on Museum Practices program with the theme “Building Resilience Towards NMP’s Collections And Heritage Management: Exhibition, Curation, Preservation & Digitization”.

Through an online workshop, Ms. Corinne Garcia, a multimedia artist, designer, and cultural worker from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, will teach the participants how to use basic shapes for pattern-making, and help them understand how small parts make a more intricate or complex design. Patterns of selected textiles from the NEC will be used as visual references.

The National Museum of the Philippines-Cordillera Regional Museum in Kiangan, Ifugao, in collaboration with the NMP Gender and Development Focal Point System (GAD-FPS) and Save the Ifugao Terraces Movement (SITMo), will be conducting a lecture-demonstration on Ifugao textile and basket weaving on May 19 and 20, 2022 at the Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED) Center at Poblacion, Kiangan, Ifugao

The #NationalMuseumPH is bringing back STORY STONES FOR KIDS. This year’s art workshop is part of the NMP’s National Heritage Month celebration with the theme #PamanangLokal Binhi ng Kulturang Pilipino. We are inviting kids (5-12 y/o) to join our rock painting and storytelling workshop happening on May 21, 2022 (Saturday) from 9am-3pm. The event will be held via Zoom Meetings so we welcome participants wherever they are in the world.

As we celebrate the National Heritage Month, the #NationalMuseumPH Ilocos invites senior high school students to join our activity entitled, “Burnay Making: Lecture and Demonstration” at Ilocos Regional Museum Complex, Heritage City of Vigan on May 23, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 nn.  In celebration of the #NationalHeritageMonth, the #NationalMuseumPH will host a roundtable discussion, “The Past, Present, and Future: Archaeology and its role, impact, and directions in the Philippines”. It aims to gather the archaeology community, institutions, and organizations on heritage studies and relevant fields and the general public to a discourse on the relevance of archaeology in the country. The program will open with presentations from three speakers, from which the succeeding forum will be based.
