Natural History Gallery
The Natural History of Bohol gallery exhibition at the National Museum Bohol presents the distinctive geology and biodiversity of Bohol, and its endemic flora and iconic fauna. The turtle-shaped island of Bohol is a product of nature’s patient sculpturing of the land for over a hundred and forty million years. This exhibition features specimens and a diorama which offer a glimpse of Bohol’s geological and paleontological treasures.
Considered a sanctuary of more than a thousand diverse species of tropical flora and unique fauna such as the Philippine Tarsier, Bohol is also surrounded by rich marine ecosystems with the Bohol Sea as home to at least 18 species of whales and dolphins. The Natural History exhibition plays a vital role in understanding the evolution of the island, giving us a snapshot of Bohol’s rich biodiversity and unique ecology.
