Martino Abellana, or “Tinong” to his friends and colleagues, was a significant influence in the growth of many Cebuano artists. Recognized as the “Dean of Cebuano Painters,” Abellana generously opened his home to the children of Carcar and unselfishly shared his creativity (kamamugnaon) and genius (kinaadman) to generations of Cebuano artists for more than four decades. This exhibition features a selection of his works gathered from the Abellana family and private collectors.
Witness Abellana’s genius — through the creative rendering of his sketches, portraits, abstract paintings, and landscapes—an opportunity to see and remember the artistry of the great Cebuano master.
