National Museum Calls All Graduates of Basic Museology Training for the 2nd General Assembly this October 2011

 


For continuous updating and sustaining the skills and knowledge of Basic Museology Training’s past participants (Batch 1997-2010), the National Museum of the Philippines through its Museum Education Division will hold its 2nd General Assembly on October 12-14, 2011 in Bacolod City.

With the theme “Accessibility and Accountability in Museums” the three-day assembly will be a good venue to gather all previous participants to validate application of skills and knowledge learned from the training to their respective museums which in effect will likewise measure the effectiveness of the training in general.

The assembly shall include paper presentations, group discussions and interactions, fellowship, museum visits and heritage tour of Bacolod City and vicinities including Bago City, Manapla and Silay City. Attendees shall likewise have the chance to observe the colorful Maskara Festival.

Past participants are encouraged to submit abstracts of paper which should revolve within the boundary of the assembly theme either on accessibility or accountability in museums, to be read during plenary sessions. Chosen papers will be properly remunerated.
